Johnny Arrowhead

So as I sit here on this fine Monday morning, enjoying my coffee and my day off, my mind takes the opportunity to wonder and wander. As I flip through the channels I come across a special about Clovis points and it dawned on me, why are there so many arrow heads just laying around America? I mean I realize there are thousands of years of history behind Native American culture, but seriously did they just waywardly chuck these difficultly sculpted sharpened rocks too the side in such a careless manner. I mean I envision a Johnny Appleseed type character walking around the entire nation, unwittingly spreading arrow heads to sites of future tourist destinations.

Could there really be that many “accidentally” dropped and discarded items? Its hard for me to envision that 500 years from now, little children will be walking to the woods and finding old bullet casings en mass. Maybe I am wrong… But it sure does seem very strange that everyone I know has found at least one arrow head at some point in their life. I guess they just weren’t very big on reusing things at that point in history. Oh well, they make for great souvenirs so I am not going to complain.
